Satellite Ultraquiet Isolation Technology Experiment (SUITE)

CSA has developed a piezoelectrically-controlled platform for on-orbit active vibration isolation of satellite components. Under Air Force sponsorship, CSA designed and built one of four payloads launched on the PICOSat spacecraft in late September 2001. This microprecision piezoelectric isolation system was delivered to SSTL for satellite integration in June, 1998 and was launched from Kodiak Island, Alaska on an Athena 1. Experiments by CSA, the AFRL, and Guest Investigators will be conducted over a one-year period with the SUITE DSP-based electronic control system.
