CSA partnered with Newport Corporation to develop ELITE-3, a piezoelectric-based three-axis vibration isolation system. ELITE employs a digital signal processor (DSP) to control the action of piezoelectrics in each module to achieve vibration isolation of 10-20 dB at 1 Hz. This allows sensitive operations to be performed by equipment mounted on the modules despite the presence of floor vibration. With additional passive isolation in the other axes, ELITE is a six degree-of-freedom platform protected from harmful vibration. ELITE is sold in the form of isolators and a control module for incorporation into other equipment in OEM uses, or as a complete workstation.
