CSA Management
Conor D. Johnson
President

Dr. Johnson has been President of CSA Engineering since its founding and has overall management responsibility for the company as well as technical and contract responsibilities for numerous projects. He has been Program Manager for many government contracts. He has expertise in administration and contracting and leads business development in vibration suppression and other areas. He is also a leader in CSA's SoftRide product line and has contributed innovative designs to several vibration and shock mitigation systems. He serves on several technical committees, has taught short courses, chaired several conferences, and represented CSA at numerous conferences and meetings. Prior to co-founding CSA, he was a Vice President at a Bay Area structural dynamics consulting firm. He previously was a Captain in the Air Force.

Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Engineering Mechanics from Clemson University. He earned his B.S. in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Eric H. Anderson
Vice President
Director of Operations

Dr. Anderson directs engineering operations in Mountain View and has additional responsibility as lead for CSA's Active Systems department. He also develops new business with commercial and government customers and has led efforts to standardize CSA's product lines. Beginning in 1984, he participated in research that helped initiate work in "smart structures." Since joining CSA in 1993, he has led programs and product development in the areas of actuation, control systems, electronics, and hexapods and other integrated systems for precision motion control and active vibration isolation and suppression. He is co-author of over 50 papers, inventor on 4 patents, and serves as a technical committee member (AIAA and ASME) and conference organizer.

Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D., S.M. and S.B. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has also worked at Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Sikorsky Aircraft.

Joseph R. Maly
Lead
Design and Analysis

Mr. Maly is head of CSA's design and analysis department and is responsible for finite element modeling, mechanical design, and implementation of vibration suppression hardware. Experienced in both analytical and experimental methods of structural dynamics, Joe has analyzed and built vibration damping into space structures, aircraft, medical equipment, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. He led CSA's development of dampers for the Hubble Space Telescope and currently leads CSA's EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) product line for integrating and shock-isolating secondary spacecraft on large launch vehicles. He coordinates activities in design and analysis and serves as program manager and customer interface on government and commercial projects.

Mr. Maly received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and M.S. in Applied Mechanics from Stanford University. He joined CSA in 1987.

Mark E. Mimovich
Director
New Mexico Operations

Mr. Mimovich manages CSA's operations in Albuquerque and leads several efforts in the areas of structural and structural dynamics analysis. In his current position as well as in his previous job, he has managed and directed engineering technical staff members and has lead business development and marketing efforts in both the commercial sector as well as in the DOD and NASA arenas. In his previous position at ATK Composites formerly Composite Optics, Inc. or COI, Mr. Mimovich managed the Engineering Analysis group (15 analyst) manpower and resources to support in-house programs, IR&D, and business development efforts. Analysis group responsibilities encompassed both structural and thermal mechanics concerns relative to all product lines within COI.

As a technical manager, Mr. Mimovich has performed structural analyses in support of various COI programs like the JPL Microwave Limb Sounder or MLS Radiometer GHz structure, the Airborne Laser Beam Expander Metering structure, NASA AMES Wind Tunnel Fan Blade Replacement program, FIRST Telescope program, Picasso Telescope, Deep Impact High & Mid Resolution Telescopes, and several dynamic and cryogenic testing programs. Efforts were focus is in the area of structural dynamics to address all aspects of structural dynamic performance to ensure compliance in the presence of launch vehicle and spacecraft operating load environments.

Mr. Mimovich received his M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico.

John W. Wanless
Operations Manager

Mr. Wanless is responsible for CSA's manufacturing operations including supply chain management, planning, and manufacturing control systems for the company. He has broad experience in both manufacturing and engineering including management of engineering, operations, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments. He has defined and implemented several MRP systems and ISO-9001/AS9100 quality systems. Mr. Wanless has worked for semiconductor equipment fabrication, nuclear power consulting, radiation monitor manufacturing, and aircraft/defense fabrication companies. His experience includes software implementation, project management, assembly of electro-mechanical products, and machining of metal and plastic parts.

Mr. Wanless received an MBA from the University of North Florida and a BEE in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College.
