CSA Engineering is pleased to welcome three new engineers to our team. Paul Keas, Greg Mehle and Eric
Pollard all bring relevant experience and excellent capabilities to CSA.
Paul Keas has over 10 years of experience in systems modeling, system identification, control system design,
software development and embedded systems. He has been a major contributor to NASA’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared
Astronomy (SOFIA) program and several other aerospace test and operational systems, and will add to CSA’s capabilities in
Control Systems in our Mountain View office.
Greg Mehle has 20 years experience in the fields of design, analytical structural mechanics, manufacturing,
and testing of advanced composite structural systems. He has specialized in the application of composite and metal structures
for extreme environments (cryogenic and elevated temperatures), and has contributed to the designs of space telescopes,
precision composite optics, and the Mars 2003 Exploratory Rover Lander. He joins CSA’s New Mexico office as design and
analysis lead.
Eric Pollard recently completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and
Technology, including a thesis under Prof. Chris Jenkins titled “Shape Memory Alloy Deployment of Membrane Mirrors for
Spaceborne Telescopes.” Eric has experience as a Space Scholar at Air Force Research Laboratory, and will continue work in
deployable lightweight space structures in New Mexico.
