CSA has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 1 contract by the Air Force to development a new Optical Ground Vibration Test System. The objective is to greatly reduce aircraft down time. The hardware and software system will utilize one or more robotic carts with gimbal-mounted laser vibrometers, wireless accelerometers for degrees of freedom that are not line of sight, and potentially mobile shaker assemblies. A soft suspension system will also be investigated for applications requiring low-frequency isolation. Custom software will drive robotic assemblies and port data from sensors to modal acquisition and/or reduction software.
