Bicycle Ride to Benefit Food Bank

August 15, 2005

This year's Will Pedal for Food Metric Century bicycle ride will be held October 8 starting at 9:00 a.m. The ride will benefit the Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque (www.rrfb.org). The event is part of an annual food drive organized by CSA and others in the Sandia Science and Technology Park. Riders can check in starting at 8:15. The ride begins at Team Specialty Products at the corner of Development and Eubank SE. There are 31, 46 and 63-mile (100 km) options.

According to event organizer Jim Goodding of CSA, "Last year, the Will Pedal for Food Metric Century and related events raised 5,300 pounds on a day with horrible weather. With this year's earlier date, the weather is bound to be more cooperative." The Roadrunner Food Bank will provide a truck, rest stop volunteers and rest stop food.
