CSA Engineering today began a six-month research program that will enhance and enable new aircraft flight control using adaptive
signal processing methods. The NASA-sponsored "Adaptive Filtering for Aeroservoelastic Response Suppression" research will apply CSA's experience in
structural dynamics and adaptive filtering to aeroservoelastic control. CSA will develop algorithms to identify structural modes and track changes under
different flight conditions in work that parallels goals of NASA's Integrated Resilient Aircraft Control and Integrated Vehicle Health Management
programs. The algorithms, combined with additional sensing systems, will allow expansion of flight envelopes and rapid assessment of and response to
damage during flight. The research is part of NASA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
CSA Engineering provides products and services for vibration suppression and precision motion control, and has main facilities in
Mountain View, California and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
