The first Sean Fahey Commemorative Award was presented to Travis Gang, a junior in Mechanical Engineering at the University of
Vermont. Travis was selected as the outstanding junior year engineer by a university committee, and was also recognized recently with funding for
undergraduate research from the Vermont Space Grant Consortium and NASA Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research.
The award was initiated by CSA Engineering and Sean's
family, and was presented at the University of Vermont by CSA Vice President
Eric Anderson. The endowment was established through generous donations that
will allow a perpetual scholarship to be provided each spring. "It was my
pleasure to meet Travis and present him the award. We hope it enables
further education and an ongoing enthusiasm for engineering that I recall
from time with Sean," said Anderson. "Sean was a mentor to many young
engineers. The award is one way that we can continue to encourage
generations of engineering students."
Tax-deductible gifts may be made to the University of Vermont. Please reference clearly that the donation is for the
"Sean O'Flaherty Fahey Commemorative Fund." Contact CSA if you would like a pre-addressed gift envelope.
