We design and build hexapods for a variety of applications requiring precision motion or vibration control. In contrast to the typical series architecture employed in moving stages, the parallel arrangement of hexapod strut actuators gives simultaneous multi-axis control of motion using an alternate geometry. Passive or active hexapods can deliver multi-axis vibration isolation while supporting other loads more effectively than other mount architectures. The hexapod architecture can be scaled, and CSA has delivered units ranging in size from 13 cm to 3 meters, including standard and custom software user interfaces for motion control.
