CSA Engineering was founded in November 1982 by three Ph.D. engineers who had been colleagues at a Bay Area materials and engineering firm. Conor Johnson, Warren Gibson, and David Kienholz wanted to start a company where they could develop and apply their expertise in structural dynamics and related fields. They organized the new company around certain core values. Our reputation is our most valuable asset, and accordingly, long-term customer relationships are emphasized and short-term gains de-emphasized. All employees have full access to company plans and data and are encouraged to participate in the company’s growth through discounted stock purchases.

A three-time winner of U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awards, CSA was named the National Small Business Government Contractor for the year 2002. CSA was also awarded the National Tibbetts Award for 2002, and has received commendations from Boeing, Lockheed, NASA, Orbital Sciences, TRW and others.
