Mechanical Design Engineer - Entry Level

Moog CSA Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for an entry level position within the design group in Mountain View, CA. Moog CSA specializes in vibration suppression and precision motion control. The company provides engineering services and builds highly engineered products for applications in systems ranging from space launch vehicles to aircraft, ground vehicles and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.  The position will be a member of a team responsible for hardware development, design, manufacture, assembly, and test. The position will be responsible for working side-by-side with other engineers as well as working in the engineering laboratory and cleanroom with our technicians. US citizens only.

Essential Functions / Responsibility

• Support vibration isolation development efforts as part of a team
• Create 3D models and machine drawings using CAD Software
• Assemble hardware in the engineering laboratory and cleanroom environment
• Support lab activities, hands-on
• Support hardware test efforts with fixture design, assembly, and testing
• Support small scale product development
• Provide engineering services to other groups in our company

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of CAD Software and 3D modeling
• Experience with creating and reading machine drawings

Structural Dynamicist

Moog CSA Engineering is seeking a structural dynamicist who is familiar with analysis of high-performance mass-constrained structures, with specific experience involving structures for space flight systems. Duties include: structural analysis, developing vibration mitigation techniques for a space flight systems, developing hardware requirements, participating in design meetings, writing test plans, and data analysis. This engineer will work as part of a team dedicated to designing, building, and testing complex systems.

Education, Training & Experience
BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with an excellent academic record. Experience in the classical vibrations and dynamics of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods is required. Familiarity with vibration suppression systems and space structures is desired. Experience with the application of the finite element method to perform statics, random vibration, coupled loads, and vibroacoustic analysis is very desirable as well as experience in dynamics testing. Experience with NASTRAN, MATLAB, and FEMAP is desired. Excellent communication skills are required. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Related experience expected is 5 years with a B.S. degree or 3 with an M.S.
